I enjoy watching some news clips on cnn.com and flip4mac just doesn't cut it. Has trouble loading, etc.

Anyone have suggestions of another freeware program out there that you think is better?

    Nope.

Are you sure it's not your hardware that's causing problems?

Flip4Mac works flawlessly on any of the systems I run it on...

it works flawlessly for me, too. Maybe it's your connection, or some other issue? flip4mac is pretty stable...

You can use VLC, but I like Flip4Mac way more. It has to be a hardware problem, or something on CNN's side not working well. I like watching Fox news on my Mac, and it works fine. I go to CNN a few times a week and the movies work fine there. Although I have got to say that CNN's video interface is really bad. It eats up porcessor speed so much.

I think the problem ended up being Firefox and Flip4Mac when using Safari I have no problems what so ever.

Does Flip3mac perform better when its not installed? I have both installed now and flip4mac seems to have trouble playing HD video despite having 2gig of ram in my powerbook (tho oddly enough the same HD video plays almost flawlessly as when its played through the plugin in Firefox).
