Darn it! I wanted to be Master of the Obvious. I've always wanted to be able to shoot lightning from my fingertips. A cool Gandalf-like staff, and even hair. I'd take long, blond hair if it meant I had hair again.

Plus, I'm just jealous that EJBasile was gifted with a custom edesignuk image.

Of well, off to bed to dream of better things....

    Another Obvious Limabean

I don't know, nor do I care. AOL seems to install more software that messes up your computer than all the adware for WinTells that I know of, combined. (Forget speelling, its late at night)

Not really, but I'll write something anyway.

It could have been worse. If Apple hadn't decided to exit the online services business in 1989*, the service would probably now be called APE.

*AOL used to be known as AppleLink Personal Edition. Apple like to start online ventures and then dump them; they did it with eWorld, the Cyberdog services and iTools, and I can't help but wonder how long it will be before they lose interest in .Mac and iTMS.

Why not dwell on the people who call it American Online instead?

I'm sure the person they're making fun of just loves them to death. Keep those awesome pics coming. And why stop at one every couple days? The more people you make fun of, the better this community gets.

Americans, offline! :D Almost anyone I talk to about AOL thinks very negative things about the service.

Someone correct me if I am wrong, but early on, adhering to strict English grammar rules, online was spelled on-line. See when you stand in line, that's two words, than you got on line, and to show the fact that you were in fact continuosly on the line, they made it one word. "Are you on the internet? Yes, I'm on-line."

Then America Online was the one to pull it together into one word.

Or maybe I should lay off the hash cookies... :p

Would it really hurt that much? :D

Speaking of strict English rules, "You've got mail" isn't even right. It should be: "You have mail."

That pic/caption would be funny if it was He-Man or some other character from Masters of the Universe and not Rastilin<sp?> from Dragaon Lance.

    Just my 2 cents (again).

They'll pop up the next time a thread as utterly stupid as this one shows up, I hardly think it's damaging the community, no need for  lighten up, it's funny!

Yeah, I guess I just don't think it's nice/fair to (in this case) the starter of the thread to openly call the thread "utterly stupid." Even if you think it is, perhaps EJBasile is genuinely interested in this, and it seems kind of mean to say that about his thread, or to post the pic even if it gives humor to you and others.

I only said the "damaging the community" thing to mean that people (especially newer people) might not feel as free to post if someone will come along and make fun of their post if they don't like it.

But whatever, if EJBasile doesn't mind then I shouldn't have complained about it to begin with. I'm just sticking up for the person being made fun of.
