Apache in startup items

    Please tell my WHY Apache is set to start at boot time (OS/X)?

    Have you enabled Personal Websharing in System Preferences -> Sharing?

    Maybe I ought to correct this. It doesnt seem to be running, but it is in startup items. No, I didnt.

    did you install apache yourself? i believe the one of the prepackage installs out there puts apache your startup items.

    Nope....it is just sitting there in startupitems.

    Do you mean the Apache folder in /System/Library/StartupItems ? That's a helper script to start and stop the server, it's only used if you have personal Web sharing enabled.
