So what does this program do exactly? Can I take out reflections from a picture where the eyeglass has reflections? I am not sure what aperture does exactly. anyone want to try to sum it up for me?

No. Aperture is NOT an image editor. Editors and go inside and make changes to selected parts of an image. (removing reflections, painting out utility wires,..) Aperture is for making gross changes (exposure, color balance and cropping) to an entire image and also for cataloging and searching. Most importantly it has tools that make handling of large numbers of image files manageable. One thing you can do in Aperture is specify an "editor". Most people will specify Photoshop.

You can download Aperture and use it free for 30 days. You can download and keep the user manual. I'd say start there. read it then do the 30 day evaluation.
