    Well, it is the name of Steven Levy's audiobook, not a self-congratulatory Apple message. Also these banner ads change every few seconds.

    Well, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but I think its really cheap and tacky of Apple to display a book about one of their products called "The Perfect Thing" in THE most-viewed place in the iTunes Store... the first thing you see in the middle "banner" of the home page.
