Just a day after debuting three new iPhone 6s ads focused on the iPhone's camera and wireless "Hey Siri" functionality, Apple has shared a new short 15-second ad in the same series, this time focusing on Live Photos.

In the "Half Court" ad, the iPhone 6s is used to capture a half-court shot made by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry, which is then played back again.

The iPhone 6s is here, and the only thing that's changed with the camera is everything. Because now you can shoot amazing Live Photos. Bringing every moment, big or small, to life with just a touch.
Yesterday's longer camera-focused iPhone 6s ad also featured a shot by Stephen Curry and both ads come just ahead of the start of the 2015-2016 NBA Regular season. The two ads may be featured during the Cavaliers/Bulls and Pelicans/Warriors games, set to be broadcast on TNT.

Over the course of the last several weeks, Apple has launched more than five videos to market the iPhone 6s, which have focused on 3D Touch, Siri, and the new camera features in the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. Apple has also released a number of Apple Watch ads highlighting Apple Music, Apple Pay, Siri, and more.

These are some expensive ads when you start adding in major celebrities. Nice ads, but still it says something that Apple needs to go to a bunch of cool guys instead of just showing the product. Also, as much as I like Steph Curry (see my logo, I'm a big basketball fan) I'm not getting much emotion out of this ad. Also I've yet to take a live photo successfully. Timing seems way too tricky.

This video displays the problem with Live Photos perfectly. The PHOTO SUCKS and the live part isn't as good as a short video. whats the point?

That was a pretty terrible ad and I actually like Live Photos. It just made it look like a choppy video.

They really do bring you back to the moment the photo was taken. I have quite a few photos that are way more special b.c the mini video Live Photos creates. I never take videos so this is perfect.

Typical Apple. They got nothing better to do than make "nice" ads. One can film a homeless person and make it a wonderful ad stating, "you can find your lost friend who happened to be homeless through iPhone. iPhone 6s...the iPhone with passion."

This is great, especially for those of us who don't follow basketball and have no idea who this guy is. I could think of quite a few better ideas that would have broader appeal:

take a production still on a film set
a shot of Blue Man Group or Cirque du Soleil
a grandad's pic of his grandson's first catch while fishing (assuming the social justice warriors don't cry foul over a kid fishing nowadays)
Olympic tryouts
an MMA action shot

Whatever. As others have said, Apple's ad concepts have hit bottom or are getting there.

It's surprising how most people in this thread are complaining. Usually people complain about things that make them worse off, which is understandabe. Live Photos don't make you worse off, they don't take anything away from you. Whether you like the feature or not, you're technically better off. Econ 101 people.

Before Apple dabbles in Ads about Live Photos, they should concentrated their efforts into improving the iOS Photo App, so one can distinguish 'Live' photos from the normal ones with one glance.

I've no idea who this guy is (clearly not a basketball fan) but I like the ad and Live Photos is fantastic. Everyone I showed it to agrees that it captures memories much better than stills.

And it looks especially cool when I use it as a watch face on my Apple Watch.
