Sounds like Apple ought to just be straight about it, and kill off dealers if that's really their plan.

I am aware that some dealers are bad dealers, but that should be dealt with head-on--drop them--and not punish or confuse good ones.

And if Apple plans to kill off even the good ones, they should be straight about that too. Maybe that's just business--but HOW you do it makes a difference to future relationships.

Welcome to the world of Apple. Nothing new here, just icing on the cake.

How did I know it was going to be a ThinkSecret article? Not saying it isn't true, probably is. But they always seem to be the ones posting stuff like this. Just saying, is all.

If they have contacts in that arena, then it makes sense. (They may also choose not to "bury" those tidbits, while others might choose to.)

TS's reputation is pretty solid as rumor sites go, and there are plenty of NON-rumor instances of this trend from Apple towards its resellers.

Like I said, it's probably true. It's just that they seem to write a lot of articles about Apple screwing over it's resellers. Which I'm sure they do.
