Apple has extended its Back to School promotion to countries in Europe, offering a free pair of Beats Solo2 Wireless Headphones with eligible purchases.

At the beginning of June, Apple launched its annual Back to School promotion in the U.S. and Canada, offering the headphones to qualifying students and select others that purchase an eligible Mac, iPhone, or iPad Pro with education pricing.

The same offer is now open to higher education students in the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, and other countries in Europe. To qualify for the Beats Solo2 cans, customers must purchase an iMac, MacBook, MacBook Pro, Mac Pro or MacBook Air.

Apple is also offering a free pair of Powerbeats2 Wireless Headphones with the purchase of an eligible iPhone or iPad with education pricing, including the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6, iPhone SE, and the iPad Air 2, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 2, and both the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.

The offer can be taken up online and at brick-and-mortar Apple Stores and is available through to September 5, 2016. Apple has outlined the full eligibility requirements for the program in its terms and conditions, available at the bottom of the promotion pages on Apple's country-specific sites.

Sorry there Apple, my Sennheiser Momentum still works fine and gets me a better sound anyway. Now get me that $100 gift card again, like last year.

This kinda sucks. They want you to purchase outdated hardware and give you outdated headphones .

After the promotion finishes, Apple will release updated MacBooks . Not cool.

I can see new beats headphones that will pair with iPhone 7 without the headphone jack.

This promotion would have been okay had Apple updated the hardware recently

Maybe I'm old but didn't school just finish?

But as Christmas starts in September in the shops, so back to school starts before the previous year has ended.

And back to school is usually a way to clear 'old' stock before the new models get launched. (And as i'm desperate for a new MBP, it can't come too soon!)

There has just been a HUGE downgrade of the benefit:
*only 1 year of applecare is now given on Macs - was always 3 years previously- if u want three year- you need to pay an additional £100!!

*Prices have increased today! Discount on mac's now up to 10% - yesterday it was up to 15%
(so macbook 12 inch was £904 yesterday - today its £944!

I think the headphones they are giving away will also pair to the iPhone 7 without the headphone jack. :)

Yes - so the discount for going 'back to school' in September starts now, after school has finished.

This is disappointing as it likely means we won't see new MacBooks being covered by this deal...

EDIT: You're completely right, looks like pricing has changed. Looking into the AppleCare now.

I was referring to the lighting port and the fact the beats heaphones are due for an update.

Though you are spot on. If you buy some out of date hardware , you can get wireless headphones that will work with iPhone 7

Higher Education purchases (15% off, free 3-year hardware warranty) are available all year round. The only difference with the 'back to school' promotion is that you get free stuff -- in this case, Beats headphones.

EDIT: No longer 15%, gone down to 10/11%. Looking into the situation with AC now.

Not true for either.

The hardware warranty is still 3 years with HE purchase. The only thing that doesn't come with is the telephone support, which is why they offer AppleCare on purchase. Regardless, this was always the case.

Prices have not increased. It's still 15% off RRP (or more specifically, 14.5%).

The only difference is that you now get free Beats headphones.

WRONG! I'll await your apology shortly:- )

I have given you a concrete example that the macbook 12 has increased to £944 (it was £904 yesterday)
Only ONE year of applecare, as of today (50% discount = £100 if you want 3 years applecare)

Can't comment on the warranty but I also noticed that it's not showing 15% anymore. I am also getting the Macbook at 944 now instead of 904. Also 13" MBA at 764 , 13" MBP at 898. None of those are even close to 15% discount.

Hope new MBP's are released sooner than september 5th, I dont mind the headphones ($200 value or so) on top of the edu discount.

You are right! Just checked -- it's gone down to 11% discount. Not sure where you're getting the thing about AppleCare though? I'll check our Apple Business account & see if I can speak with an advisor to see what the news is on the AC.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention :)

It's clear there won't be any new hardware releases until the end of the promo. expect another huge release schedule in sep, oct

Ouch. That's a major blow for students

This is a very a mean-spirited and ignorant remark.
