its a clever plan apple has, relase new products at night, and then take them off the website during the daytime...

its just a trial run, so dont get to used to it...

That is in the US too. They are just updating the ordering system.

Oh, the order status thingy! It's down for the US store too. Apple have been doing that frequently for some reason.

I wouldn't say they wouldn't be up to doing this - esp if they are 'silent' upgrades etc - also whilst it's night for some, it's Friday afternoon for others - to keep their unpredictability in such things - I wouldn't put it past apple to stagger such things is all.
