    Very sad with Apple Brazil

Hello, i would like to say why i'm (and all Mac users in brazil) said with Apple Brazil:

    - Very bad support for users: If you want a support for use your mac here, sell your mac and buy a PC. It's more easy

-No Marketing Strategy: No body here knows what's Apple. Who knows Apple here, usually says: That's a expensive computer (yes, it's true!), don't have programs, and no have programs in portuguese (It's true too, but now, the Apple is getting OS, iMovie, iTunes in portuguese. But only now! ). You cant see Macs in Schools! Only Windows PCs.

    - No Games!!! You can't see Mac games here to sell. If you find someone you'll see that is very expensive.

    - You can't buy Macs in shopping, etc, only in Mac Stores that sell Mac Products like printers, Memory, Medias, etc at very expensive price.

    - The Macs are very, very, very expensive here!!!
See the comparison... Price in Brazilian's money "R$"

    same goes for the states...almost

    low end imac...799.00 us dollars/500 mhz g3
low end ibook...1199.00/500 mhz mobile g3

    low end pc...399.00/933 mhz celeron
low end pc laptop...849.00/950 mhz duron
low to middle pc laptop...999.00/1 ghz cel./2 year warranty
middle pc laptop...1199.00/1 ghz pentium III-m

looking at these numbers, an ordinary consumer would most likely opt for the pc tower w/o monitor for four hundred and get a 17" inch monitor for $149.00 instead of an eight hundred dollar imac

the same goes for the "faster sounding" pc laptops with their lower prices

and the software in most chain stores favor pc ten to one over mac software

...the only thing that suprises me is the complete lack of portugese support apple has and that is such a shame...i wonder how apple fares in other countries

my cousin in japan is quite happy with all things mac over there, but that should come as no suprise

apple, on the price front, will always be fifty percent higher and in some cases, twice as high in price as their pc counterparts due to the fact that apple has no mac makers competing with them and that apple inc. is a smaller company than e-machines, compaq, or hp which are the retail computer leaders of the industry something like three or four years in a row and that is an amazingly long time to dominate in the IT field

the peugeot you mentioned, is that a car or a motorbike?

because i certainly hope the top of the line mac g4 is not as much as a car, because if that is the case, apple is charging way too much in your country

    Worth a Trip

I think it might be cheaper to drive up to the US and buy one there!

Peugeot produces (as far as I know) cars and mopeds but no motorbikes, so I assume caio_brazil meant a car. If so Apple Brazil must have lost its mind!

    I'm assuming 2 doors means a car.

    But...

I know that Apple is more expensive than PCs... But in Brazil is a very big difference. One G4 Dual cost the "same" price that a new car!

The iMac was made to be a popular computer but in Brazil, only de most wealthy persons can pay for a Apple computers.
If we have a good support and a good market strategy the macs would be more popular.

Ih your Mac break.... The prices of pieces are very expensive (like computers)

    See.
    iMac 233 Rev A Used R$ 900,00
Apple Internal CD-Rom drive for this iMac R$ 700,00
And more, you have to wait more that 2 mouths to piece arrive in Brazil...
And some pieces are reconditioned parts of broken computers from USA and we have to pay as new.
