In all the recording studios I've been to with my band, the main mixing room has always reeked of something else, something particularly strong enough to overcome the possible fumes of the studio's Mac Pro's. ;)

In seriousness, what sort of smell is it, and is it strong?

Yeah - usually a huge 108-channel mixer, one or two Cinema Displays and a Mac Pro with Logic. The studios I go to are adequate enough for a small time band looking to record a few tunes.

http://www.bananarow.com is where we go most of the time - although in the photie on the website, it has their old equipment.
