Apple today shared two new videos promoting the iPhone 6s and its unique features, 3D Touch and Live Photos. In the first video, focusing on Live Photos, the Live Photos feature is shown in action and described with a humorous voiceover that explains that it's "more" than a photo, allowing users to "relive the moment."

The iPhone 6s shoots photos that come alive when you touch them. And when they do, you get much more than just a picture.
The second video is similar, showing off the 3D Touch feature on the iPhone 6s with a voiceover that explains how it works. Quick Actions are shown off, as are some in-app uses for "Peek" and "Pop." Apple's 3D Touch video also has a humorous note, featuring Aubrey Plaza getting so wrapped up in Peeking at her flight information that she misses the flight.

With 3D Touch on iPhone 6s you can do a ton of stuff in a lot less time.
Apple has released several iPhone 6s ads since the phone debuted in September, focusing on the tagline "The only thing that's changed is everything." Previous ads have starred celebrities like Jamie Foxx and Bill Hader and have highlighted Live Photos, 3D Touch, always-on Hey Siri, the A9 processor, and more.

These ads are pretty good! I laughed out loud at the end of the Live Photos one. :)

love these ads. Very cute. Classic Apple. I don't miss the ones that are morose antidepression medications ones.

I thought 3D touch was a gimmick, but as more third party apps support it, it's become really useful especially to go to a specific feature without navigating inside the apps.
Still makes me wonder why some Apple apps don't support it, like the new music memos.

I have an iPhone 6s+ and it is very nice. But I have NO applications or usage for the 3D touch. It is useless.

I have NO use for the "live photo" feature either. Tried it and it was too hard to get a good picture and took up lots of space. That feature has been turned off on my phone since the first day. I take a lot of pictures with my iPhone.

My iPhone 6s+ is a big improvement over my iPhone 4 that it replaced, but the newest features are worthless.

Both of these features seem to be falling a bit flat. While both are good and useful things, they seem underused. I don't know anyone who shoots or posts live photos (I turned it off after a while) and I know few people who use 3D Touch extensively (I like it for peeking at emails in a list or web links but that's about it).

They should do a commercial comparing google now and Siri....

O wait.. Siri actually doesn't compare.. ;)

I was filled with new hope with the recent Apple TV ad.

These, alas, are more of the bland, snarky-sounding Samsung-like nausea-inducing ads that we had to suffer for so long, albeit not as bad as the worst ones.

Perhaps it's fitting, though; both Live Photos and 3D Touch are gimmicks that don't deserve good ads.
I'd have to disagree. (And of course this is opinion) I think the difference is the tone and handling of the witty humor. It's silly, informative and fun, not in-your-face-these-features-are-so-totally-better-than-your-phone in the way Samsung was (and is) trying to do. They sell the new features, and without bashing others in the process. I think they are quite great! :)
