With my device sometimes I have to call to verify sometimes not. I could text myself to activate the card. Why does it change?

It depends on the bank. Some have different security requirements than others.

Initially my bank did not require verification by call/text. Now they changed it, so on the iphone if I log out icloud, and log back in, I'll need to enter verification code.

It's so annoying to have to do this everytime you change things or resetup the phone.
