That is very cool, they slow down some of the transitions which bothered me in the first ad but i really don't like the white flash.

I don't mind the white flash... it's a pretty good effect to use with that song IMO...

Just saw this ad on Fox about an hour ago during the NFL OT show after the pats/redskins game.. and again a few minutes ago between the top and bottom of the first innings of Game 4 of the World series.

In case 640x360 isn't enough pixels for you.. You can see the ad in all its HD glory here:

Fantastic to see talent being poached from youTube by our beloved Apple. Even better that the ad has remained so true to the original form.

Beautifully executed :)

It is rather remarkable how close it remained - the only differences I can see offhand are the text transitions(one of them was originally inside the Touch, but in the final was the same as the rest) and the "iPod touch" whitescreen at the end, and the second apple beat right at the end.

Bravo to Nick and bravo to Chiat/Day, whose genius has shone through since the "1984" ad to the present.

The pacing and attitude are very reminiscent of the Shuffle ad featuring the Protypes "Who's Gonna Sing?" ... another extremely catchy commercial.

The first thing I noticed about Nick's version that I would have changed was the "8GB... 16GB... Mac + PC" bit... it's incongruous with Apple's attempt to stay on brand by keeping the focus on concepts and not specs. That's all I would have taken out and Chiat/Day did, plus they tightened up the editing a bit, and made it one hell of a snappy advert.

I like this ad. Unlike the iPhone ads of late, this ad makes me want to buy a touch.

Well done Apple, well done.
