Hi guys,

I bought an Apple PowerBook a month ago from a friend of mine (not from Apple). At that time, he said that the PowerBook had 1 year warranty left. I haven't registered my name on the PowerBook yet so I thought the warranty would be still 1 year. But then when I was browsing the Apple sites a few weeks ago, I read that the warranty is actually based on the date of purchase. How can I possibly check its warranty left?

Thanks for your help guys.

Do you know if your Powerbook is under the 1st year (included with computer upon purchase) warranty or on an extended warranty (someone bought Applecare). If your friend bought Applecare, you're going to have to have him transfer it into your name. It's not hard, and he can do it by calling Apple. It only takes a few minutes once you start talking to someone.
