Apologies if this is a bit of a dumb question.....

I would like to be able to access files on my G3 iMac from my G4 Powerbook. The two are connected via an Airport connection, and by bluetooth. However, I cannot currently 'view' one from the other. Is there a way to do this? I get the impression that Apple RD offers a few features of this nature, but not much. Anyone any ideas/pointers?

If you're just looking too see a list of files and both machines are on the same network, then just enable file sharing in your sharing preference pane. Then go to the network icon in the finder and connect to the remote machine.

Apple remote desktop actually allows you to control the machine as if you're sitting in front of it. If that is what you want, don't waste your money on apple's remote desktop. Go to and look for OSXvnc and chicken of the vnc, one is a vnc server and one is a vnc client. VNC will do the same thing and its open source and free. I use it daily.
