Apple today seeded the second beta of an upcoming OS X 10.11.3 El Capitan update to developers and public beta testers for testing purposes, three weeks after seeding the first OS X 10.11.3 beta and a month after releasing OS X 10.11.2.

The second OS X 10.11.3 beta, build 15D13b, can be downloaded through the Apple Developer Center or via the Software Update Mechanism in the Mac App Store for those who installed the first beta.

The first beta of OS X 10.11.3 did not include any noticeable outward-facing changes, suggesting the update will focus on security enhancements, performance improvements, and bug fixes to address issues that have been discovered since the release of OS X 10.11.2. Prior OS X El Capitan updates have also focused mainly on under-the-hood improvements.

We'll update this post with any changes that are discovered in the beta.

Might sound weird, but I am hoping this can fix my fan issue. Ever since I installed 10.11.2, I have been getting a weird clicking noise from my fan. Seems really odd. Anyone else have a similar issue? Is it crazy to think it could potentially be a software issue?

I don't think it could be a software issue, but I'd check the bearings of your fans - they possibly need replaced. What kind of Mac is having this problem?

Well I attempted to, but all of the screwdrivers I have no longer fit in the new star screws that they use. It is late 2013 MacBook pro. I am taking it to the apple store tomorrow.

Strange that there are no details about changes. Previously Apple has included such notes so I'm wondering why not on this 10.11.3 case?

It's still quite slow if you after a restart. Still seeing way too much beach balls switching between apps. Even with 16gb RAM on iMac Late 2013 21". Performance improvements is really needed here.

How about they fix the wonderful glitch that affects USB Optical Drives that while ripping your music or movies over, causes them to shut off and fail? I moved back to Yosemite to be able to digitize my audio and video collection.

I know this is a Microsoft thing, but my who Office suite has been a mess with 10.11.2 and 10.11.3. Lots of spinning beach balls of doom.

That's pretty quick, so you must have approximately 65Mbps internet speeds?
Works out as about 550Mbit/s, now what’s odd is that Virgin Media are the Uks fastest and they only offer 200Mbit/s ???

I just installed on my Macbook Air 2015 and the screen looks to be sharper!

I got the same machine here buddy (8GB RAM + 256GB SSD Upgrades) Does it run smooth and fast? (I'm on 10.11.2) Cheers

Runs better/smoother/faster than most new-ish (less than 2 years old) Windows laptops I've used. It has never failed me. It's quite surprising actually. I have 8GB of RAM in mine and a 64GB SSD.
