So Apple has to stop using the name "Rendezvous" for said technology. What do you think they will choose instead? They *have* to rename it.

On 25 June, Apple applied for the Zeroconf mark covering "IC 009. US 021 023 026 036 038. G & S: Computer hardware; computer software; computer operating system software; computer utility software; computer software for use in developing other computer software; Computer software for the automatic configuration of a computer network and computer peripherals and devices"

I had been wondering why they did that, since previously that was just the protocol's IETF working group name.

[edit: it occurs to me that other vendors like Mandrake have already been calling it zeroconf for a year or two, I wonder how that will pan out!]
