    Hey guys,
Does anyone have access to the new Apple Store Screensavers for the holiday season? I just hit up the Jacksonville store today and the screensavers were great. They have a Video iPod one and a PowerBook one that I really liked. If anyone knows how to get ahold of these or has them, please get ahold of me!

Seriously, spotlight for them, throw an ipod or shuffle onto the computer, click, drag, eject, done. Get the hell out.

I used to work there, and I always caught people trying to scam apps and what not off of us. They would look at me and I would just smile. I didn't care, I thought it was pretty funny. Now, steeling physical property pissed me off.

Now, I'd love to do this but I'm trying to get a job there as we speak; therefore, I don't find it to be the most personally advertising thing to run in, grab a file, and run right out. haha... So, if anyone grabs it, let me know please!

It wont be hard to get.
People just use the computers as they wish in the London store... there's no 'hawking'.

I'll get it for you next time I go (which will be end-of next week) - if no one else has already got it for you!

I agree. Stealing is stealing. The problem today is that most people think they are entitled to something all the time. Apple paid good money to have those screensavers developed. Maybe if you ask that manager if you could get a copy he might agree all the sudden. Never hurts to ask. Better than having to look at something everyday that you stole.

agreed, having something that is stolen (no matter how good it is) will never quite feel right.

Alternatively, once you've located the file, couldn't you Gmail it to yourself?

I haven't seen the new screensaver yet, but next time in the store, I'll check it out. If I like it, it'll be on my Mac that evening, too.

    :p

I liked the screensavers I used to see at the genious bar, quotes from Einstein and others.

    Wish I had that one.

I have noticed that about the Apple Store in London. It is always packed and people use it as an Internet cafe.

Hopefully those of you who are throwing a bit of ridicule out there are certainly not expecting that I wish to steal. I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get a copy of it. I was not sure if Apple had those for their own use or if they allow Mac users to have them.

There are business men who sit in the theatre, plug in their Dell laptops, check their email and have the unmitigated gall to make business calls on their mobiles while the staff are trying to do a presentation.

And most of the people on the Macs aren't looking to buy one, or any Apple software... they're checking their email rather than going to an internet cafe. When you do actually want to check something out in order to buy something, you generally have to find a member of staff (who isn't standing chatting to another one or playing with the iPod speakers) and ask them to boot one of the freeloaders off.

There's nothing that I hate more than going into the store in NY or or NJ, wanting to look at something new, and having to wait for someone (usually NOT a kid, but an adult) to get off the machine that they are using to check their email. It's so annoying, especially when there is usually a free Internet cafe within walking distance that they can bring their laptop into.

Regarding this topic, I went into the Apple store yesterday and plugged in a thumb drive. I tried to drag one of the screensavers onto it, and was told that I could not move or copy it. I tried to use my FTP server as well, but could not copy it to that location as well. They seem to have things locked down, at least in the store that went to.

Wow that's odd. Did you try to right-click it and "Add to archive"? That usually does the trick ;)
