I've got 30 minute TV shows from iTunes on my notebook. When I stream to ATV2 it takes maybe 10 seconds for the show to start playing.

I've got 2 hour ripped 720p encoded movies from Handbrake on my notebook. When I stream to ATV2 it takes maybe 10 seconds for the show to start playing.

I've got 4 minute 720p home movies shot with my iPhone 4 on my notebook. When I stream to ATV2 it takes more than 2 minutes for the video to start.

Any ideas why? Why a tiny bit of iPhone 4 video would take forever to load and stream and why 30 to 120 minute videos take mere seconds?

    TIA

Perhaps the ATV2 wants to load the whole video into the buffer when it's a small file. Or maybe it depends on the codec/format.

I thought AirPlay for video wouldn't really be ready until iOS 4.2 comes in November?

Correct, AirPlay and it's wireless iPhone streaming is not out but you can drag/drop any iPhone 4 shot video onto your computer and import into iTunes and steam it to ATV2 like any other iTunes video.

They look great, by the way. Fantastic 720p quality video right there on the big screen. They've just got to get this buffer delay solved.
