Roughly 24 hours after orders for the new Apple TV began shifting to "Preparing for Shipment" status, Apple has begun notifying customers that their orders have shipped. Early reports so far all appear to be from Australia where it is currently the afternoon of October 29, and deliveries are scheduled for Friday, October 30. Shipment notifications for customers in other countries should begin rolling out in the coming hours as the clocks roll around into business hours on Thursday.

Apple began taking orders for the Apple TV on Monday, with the earliest deliveries being quoted Friday, October 30 arrival dates. Apple's own retail stores are also expected to begin carrying the new Apple TV on Friday, with other retailers such as Best Buy apparently not seeing availability until next week.

Press reviews of the new Apple TV landed just a few hours ago, with the new set-top box generally receiving a positive response for its evolutionary advances, although it does not yet completely remake the television experience as many have been hoping for Apple to do for a number of years. One key feature of the new Apple TV is the tvOS App Store, however, and we've yet to really see how developers will embrace the new platform that opens up apps to the living room.

you do know that they are shipping overnight and there is still 24 hours until theyd have to go out to make it by friday, right?

You do know that Apple ships these things from China, right? In order to be delivered by Friday, they have to be in the US by Thursday evening. Since it takes about 18 hours to travel from China, it needs to ship within the next few hours.

I ordered my 64GB one bang on Tuesday 28th here in Australia, as soon as the store button changed to "Buy Now".. My order says delivery 2nd November - So maybe there is a delay on the 64GB versions...

We are king :D Being on the other side *does* have it's advantages..

Positive reviews, but probably the main plot everyone is missing as "its not living up to what they thought" is Apple has not got their TV service on it yet. Just wait....

(edit: the only reason i can say mostly everyone who ordered here is from Australia)

I'm pretty sure Apple has had these shipped from China to the U.S. weeks ago for Friday's launch. That wouldn't make any sense for them to ship them from China the same week of the launch. Too many delays could happen in regards to storms and various other road blocks. Remember how the Pope delayed shipping of the iPhone 6S?

Dang it, mine just turned to preparing for shipping and now some peoples are already shipping. I got the 64GB and next day shipping. I really hope it come Friday or Saturday.

Pitty about the $40 Australia tax. They should cost ~$231 and $308 respectively, inclusive of GST

What is this ? do i get in store friday or just wait for next week..decisions decisions?

You ever track an iPhone launch shipment on UPS? For that matter, have you ever tracked an iPhone post-launch shipment? They come direct from China. The iPhones only ship a few days early because of capacity; there's much less demand for the TV, so they don't need to have UPS hold them.

Mine says Nov2-Nov4th. Are you going in store friday and buy it before or wait?

Mine also says Nov2-4.
I am going to wait for mine. I am not sure there is anything about the ATV4 that I am so excited about that I would make the trip to an Apple to to pick it up the first day.

Also, my experience with Apple products are that they usually ship sooner than what is listed on their website.

The only thing I remember taking a while and barely made the promised shipped date was the late 2012 27" iMac. It was suppose to ship in December. I got it the 30th I think.

Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Why do I think that MacRumors is shoving Apple TV down our throats? Is MacRumors in bed with Apple? The push from MacRumors about Apple TV is downright aggressive. Who cares about Apple TV? No one ever has and no one will in the near future. There has got to be something better to talk about in Apple's product line... or it's a sad thing when there isn't.

You are just not getting the potential. we are people who spend most of our time before the tv. If you are not, may be this topis is not for you

Right now, the Apple TV is the most used electronics in my house. I am interested in it, more than any other current hardware Apple currently has.

I can understand not liking or wanting an ATV4, but it almost sounds like you are mad at the coverage on it.... Why?
