I believe he is talking about "gas" as in fuel for the car. If you order online you don't have to waste any gas... at least that is how I read it.

The price is back up to $99 at Amazon. Does anyone have a coupon code for the $89 price?

Note that amazon is pretty well know for having pricing jump all over the place as they a-b test things. or a-b-c-d-e-f testing!

I've also heard that amazon pricing is sometimes based on your amazon browser history for some of these "test" price items. I don't know how the logic works, or if you get a better or worse price if you've got a history of looking up and apple tv before...

anyway - i think that's why some people may see alternative pricing...

Even at $89 the AppleTV is a waste of money. Mine sits in back of the TV collecting dust. Have used it less than 5 times since I purchased in last summer.

Obviously, it will be more useful to some than others.
I use my aTV2 nearly every day.

I disagree. Even at $100 it's a no-brainer. Especially if you are an Apple guy with a house full of Apple devices. :D

Sure, I'd like to see them at $49 like the cheap Roku's as well. But the price is quite reasonable for the functionality.

There, I fixed your quote for you.

Seeing as I bought into iTunes being the center of my multimedia universe long ago, the AppleTV is an essential component to consume media in my house.
