    Hi Guys,

I had a look around in the forum, but could not find what I,m looking for. But I'm absolutely sure someone out there has the answer to my question! ;)

Is it really necessary to have movies in the iTunes library to stream/synchronize them with the Apple TV?
What about all the other movies I can watch on my iMAC in FrontRow? Is it correct that they can't be seen via the ATV?
Thanks a lot for your help out there!

They have to be in iTunes and they have to be in MP4 format.

That's sad, that means no :apple:TV for me :(

But what about those who rip their DVD collection? How can these movies be included into iTunes?

Yes - handbreak will convert most DVDs to iTunes compatible files.
