Customers who pre-ordered the Apple TV and opted for one-day shipping have begun receiving their devices in New Zealand, where it is just after 9:00 a.m. local time. Deliveries will begin soon in Australia and countries in Asia, before expanding to Europe and the United States.

Those who pre-ordered their Apple TVs on Monday can expect to begin receiving them at the end of this week and the beginning of next week, as not choosing one-day shipping largely offered delivery estimates of November 2 to November 4.

Apple's retail stores will also begin selling the Apple TV on Friday, October 30. The first customers in Australia should be able to pick up an Apple TV in the next few hours.

As customers begin receiving their Apple TVs, Apple has officially launched the tvOS operating system for the device to allow those with developer and review units to update to the publicly released version. Following the update to the official tvOS software, users are able to access the App Store and search function to locate and install apps on the device.

The Apple TV is available for purchase from the Apple online store. It's priced at $149 for 32GB storage and $199 for 64GB storage.

(Thanks, Scott!)

Anyone know if apps bought for iPhone and iPad will just be downloadable here (if offered) or will we have to pay all over again? I saw that Alto's Adventure is going to have an app on here. Wondering if I'll have to pay for it all over again.

Really Just wish the TV streaming service would launch already..

And i still think the interface is kinda clunky..

Got confirmation email a few hours ago mine is arriving tomorrow (friday - UK). Really excited about this. Also just downloaded the new Plex Media Player (Plex subscription only at the moment); wow, steaming is massively improved and interface looks very nice and clean... It would look awesome on a telly so i'm guessing this is what the Plex TV app will look like, if so it'll be awesome.

Waiting for actual content and features like Siri to be introduced in my country. Device launches here crippled, will probably take another year or so for the full-featured version

That depends on how the developer set it up. The developer has the option to make it work like universal apps (like the iPhone & iPad compatible apps as a single purchase).

I pre-ordered within an hour of it opening. Mine is still showing Preparing for Shipment.

Side note: Anyone see if Plex is in the App Store yet?

When I check on mine it tells me my Apple TV is up to date.
You should have the Golden Master (assuming it's a Dev unit). The only thing that went live is the App Store connection. Try seeing if you can access? (Assuming you don't have access try rebooting it and see if that has it check to see if the App Store is now online).
