Apple Shares New Ads Promoting Apple Watch Series 2 as a Holiday Gift [Update]

Apple today uploaded two new Apple Watch Series 2 ads to its YouTube channel in the United Kingdom, promoting the fitness capabilities of the device and recommending it as a Christmas gift.

Both ads come in at 15 seconds in length and are holiday themed. "Go Play," the first ad, features an Apple Watch Sport model being unboxed and then used during a night time game of football. The ad is accompanied by text that says "Apple Watch offers the perfect assist for a healthier life. This Christmas, give the Gift of Go."


The second ad, "Go Run," features a present containing a Nike+ Apple Watch model being opened up and then used for a run on crowded city streets. It's also recommended as a Christmas gift in the text below the video: "Apple Watch makes it easier to go the distance. This Christmas, give the Gift of Go."


These are UK-themed ads that will likely be shown on television in the United Kingdom. Apple may release similar ads for the United States, but has not yet done so.

Update: Apple has now shared the same two videos on its U.S. YouTube channel, along with two additional videos: "Go Out" and "Go Dance," both of which are done in the same style and feature the Apple Watch.

The Apple Watch classifies as a "Thing." Regardless, its wearable technology and its a great device for fitness and convenience. No one here stated its the "Future." But don't deny it's not a wanted gift for the holidays or in general for that matter.

Ehh, I'm waiting for Bluetooth 5 which should help speed these up even more. Wish I could buy that Nike band separately, though.

These commercials are much better then the old ones. For example they had one where a person was in a taxi giving directions from his watch... why? Literally it makes no sense....using the phone is much better and easier. It felt too forced.

Really want to know which song is in that first ad (non-Nike Watch).

Also, hey, I think the Watch looks really nice actually.

Look I was very skeptical, but I have a Nike+ one and honestly I actually enjoy it for workouts. Sure, I rather use my Omega to a social event but for working out I have to say I am impressed with the AW for running/swimming. Keeping track of the data information is actually a great motivational tool, imo.

Every exec at Apple is paid way too much, are you only just seeing this? They use the company like their personal piggy bank.

I own an Apple Watch, I wear it everyday...it's useless. Might sell it soon.
