I think the goal is 3 million+ iPods this quarter. And with HP in the game, this number is not only in range, but it could be exceeded easily.

And with next weeks music related announcement, who knows what the real numbers will be when the smoke clears.

If a new iPod with a color LCD with photo capabilities comes out, then apple better be prepared for a mad rush.

I don't think there will be any mad rush for 60 GB photo iPods. I heard they don't work, plus they are very dangerous! Radioactive, in fact. My advice: wait a few days before ordering one.

It could be as high as 4 million with HP in the mix, who knows, according to a recent survey the iPod was the most wanted gift behind only clothes. So there may be many iPods for christmas, lets hope they can meet demand. Watch my stocks soar.

Yes......iPod's are evil esp the 60GB iPod. early FDA results suggest they cause cancer and sterilization. Best to stay away from them. *Keeps hitting refresh on the site* Come on damn it load!!

I'm pretty sure Apple won't be suffering from empty shelves this season, anywhere on the planet. I'm anticipating a big flooding of the market. In the UK we've got broadband providers battling for customers using the 'unlimited music downloads' as their selling points...and BT even make direct reference to the iPod .... and all this from a country that originally snubbed music downloads as having any future.

    Just (partially) interesting.
