    10.6.8 is a stated requirement:
Anyway, have you checked System Preferences > Keyboard yet for specific settings, maybe even the Keyboard Shortcuts list?

Probably, but it is included in 10.6.8, though when the keyboard was released, Macs were still running Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger, but the current iteration/generation needs 10.6.8. Maybe you can get your hands onto an older model, that only requires 10.5.

    Try installing this: https://support.apple.com/kb/DL957

I have a post-Lion Bluetooth keyboard with my PowerMac G5 and all of it's function buttons work correctly. I did have to install that, but Software Update caught it and installed it for me.
