Apple Shares Full Video of 'Let Us Loop You In' Event on YouTube

Two days after Apple's "Let Us Loop You In" event that saw the debut of the iPhone SE, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, and new Apple Watch bands, Apple has posted the full video of its presentation on its YouTube channel. The same video is also available on Apple's event website.


Apple's "Let Us Loop You In" event was shorter than most of its past events, lasting just over an hour. The video kicks off with a look at Apple's environmental efforts, ResearchKit, and a message from Tim Cook about the company's ongoing struggle with the FBI.

Apple then delves into the debut of new Apple Watch bands before moving on to the iPhone SE and the 9.7-inch iPad Pro, both of which will be available for order starting tomorrow, March 24.

Apple will be hosting at least two more events in 2016, including its annual Worldwide Developers Conference that typically takes place in June and a fall event where it is expected to debut new flagship iPhones.

I walked into the Apple store in Birmingham, UK and saw 10s of staff there all different ages, ethnicities and styles and both genders, all excited about their wares. How wonderfully diverse I thought, good for Apple.

I then watched the Spec Bump Keynote and saw exclusively late middle aged white men looking quite morose. I am sure they are all there because they are fantastic at their roles but I couldn't help but think that perhaps diversity is a marketing tool!

Am I too cynical?

So, Greg comes up and introduces the phone and iOS 9.3. He's very straightforward and seems uncomfortable with hyperbole. I thought I'd enjoy that more, but in the Apple presentation space it seemed like he was bored or deflated about this all being revealed already. I think he is excited about the product but I could feel that he knew that almost everything he was explaining was already widely known. Right after he says something to the effect of "You may have heard..." he just deflates.

I don't even think it's him at all. He's just being genuine which is what I want. Besides the supply chain rumor confirmations, it's the situation that arises with the more open Apple with public betas. They have to find a way to get some enthusiasm going when the wider public really sees these things. If this isn't where you want to show that enthusiasm then maybe a more genuine conversation has to happen here. I don't know.

It's also a small venue with smaller announcements, but it's an ongoing issue I think. Some new hype strategies to go with the openness (that is both intended and otherwise).

In the end these products are very compelling to many customers. If I hadn't jumped on board the 12.9" iPad Pro I'd be buying this 9.7. It's a great deal and the new features are welcome (wish I had them). Even so, I recommend trying the larger screen because it was a short adjustment phase to get used to the size and going back would be far too painful. Either way, I'm glad to see Apple intending to take the iPad to a very new place and I'm hoping that means certain aspects of the software will catch up soon. iOS X here we come?

I think Apple is really trying but it's a problem on many levels that can't be immediately fixed. That said, I have to say that the thought crossed my mind that Tim Cook almost looked apologetic when after having such a strong female speaker the next one turned out to be another white-haired male. There was a lack of energy and enthusiasm overall, I don't think I'd quite characterize it as morose, but it was on its way there. Perhaps we are seeing the weathering effects of working hard at an unforgiving job while also preparing for a trial against the government?

It was available on their site pretty much as soon as the event ended. This is YouTube, so that's kind of neither here nor there as far as when they make it available on it.

Seemingly enough to not even think about it, but spend the effort of posting about that.
