applecare and airport problems

    i dont have applecare on my ibook anymore. if i brought it to the apple store, would they look at it for free or how much would it cost to have them look at it. it refuses to connect to airport for no reason. my other mac connects fine with an ip address. in the network pain, it says connected but its not.

    Unless they gave you a break, there would be a cost to have them look at your iBook and fix any parts that need to be replaced. I'm not positive as to what that would be. As you can see now, its worth the extra money for AppleCare as this would be free no questions asked. You never know when things are going to go wrong.

    take off the keyboard, its just the two clips between your esc and f1 key and f11 and f12 key and make sure that the ap card is seated properly and if it is try to update the firmware before you take it to the store

    If you don't have a warranty now, you can't add applecare.
