Hello. I woud like to tell everyone about my first AppleCare expierience. It was great. The customer represenitive was great. She helped me through step by step. (I am new to Macs.) I called about my MacBook Pro and how it was dropping airport connections. She showed me how to reinstall OSX. She walked me through it and now everything is perfect. They even talk with you when you are waiting for things. Try getting this kind of service from HP.

Verdict: Apple is the greatest for customer care and products!! :D

I'm glad you had such a good experience, and thanks for posting something positive, to remind people that bad service isn't the only kind that should be discussed.

Yay! Thanks for sharing with us. I've always had success with AppleCare, they do their job well.

I guess when Apple shipped it. The OS didn't instal network preferences properly so I did an archive and install to restore the network prefs. Yah AppleCare was great.

After my experiances with Alienware, Dell, and Gateway, I'm thrilled to hear something positive about Apple... I just bought a Mac Pro, and I sincerly pray that I will never need to call them... but if I do, its good to know they are nice about things.

That's great. When I called Applecare, I got a Swede on the phone. Although I am Danish, I understand Swedish, but just not over the phone. So all in all, we spent half an hour misunderstaning eachother and I really felt stupid. Happy days. Oh, did I mention it took Applecare 43 days to finish the diagnostics on my iBook? No, I better not.

But great you had a nice experience!

I had a problem with my Ibook cdrom door ejecting and took it in to an apple store, they sent it out next day air they said. They fixed it in 1 day and next day air it back to me. The laptop was out of my possession for 3 days. I was shocked when it arrived at my house the same week I had given it to them with a perfectly working cdrom door :)

I've noticed that sometimes Applecare over the phone is quite iffy - sometimes you get really rude people. However, whenever I go to the store, it's nothing but smiles (haha). Wait times are long to get to the Genius Bar (because you have 30 people with broken iPods in front of you) but since the Geniuses are so rushed, they look it over, if they can't fix it they offer to send it in, or they offer to replace the product. They used to offer to replace my iBook, but now they don't since it's so old (early 2004 model) and I don't think they want to give me a Macbook. :p

(I had the same problem devmage and my turnaround time was pretty similar!)

Glad to hear you had a good experience. It makes me sad when people call Applecare crappy. Trust me, you haven't seen crappy customer service!
