I'm curious as to how long others have waited to get their MBP's back from applecare when getting the whine and moo fixed. Currently they have had mine for 3 weeks and the online status page says "on hold, part on order." I'm surprised at how long it has been, anyone?

That is an unacceptable amount of time. Why not call and ask them to send you a new one - those ship w/i 24 hours per their on-line store?

I would explain that their parts shortage is not your fault - send you a new one and let them sell your old one on the refurb store.

    Enough is enough already.

If it has actually been three weeks, you should call them up either today and tomorrow and check the status. And if they can not give you a solid answer start to ask for a replacement unit. Tell them that the wait is unacceptable. And if they say they cant help you ask to talk to a product specialist. This is what I did after they had my powerbook for 3 weeks, and it was being repaired for the 4th time, so they sent me an airport express base station as a consulation gift, then sent me a brand new powerbook. Just try calling and see what the deal is.

Thanks you guys. I have tomorrow off, so I'll give them a call. I have to go back to school in Canada in a week, so I need to get it back before then. We'll see what they say.

Nothing to do with the whine fix, but my iBook was in for 43 days. I have called and complained, with a promise that they would call me to find a solution, however I haven't heard from them. Then I snailmailed a letter to them 4.5 pages long, and still no reaction. Gettin really grumpy and seriously thinking about calling some people higher up to give me some customer satisfaction (no, not that kind of satisfaction).
