A quite interesting take on Apple`s role in the future of x86, but I believe Intel will be more likely to push their designs forward because of competition from AMD than requests from Apple. IBM and Freescale really never were competitors, the Mac market wasn´t big enough to ignite real competition between the two.

However, although Apple probably won´t push chip speeds, hopefully they will put x86 chips and boards into enclosures never seen on the x86 arena, supporting Intel on their earlier requests of more imaginative (Apple-like) products and solutions.

Pretty much why people by PowerMacs.

Expensive, but state of the art and will still be working long after the PC eqivilent has died from heat issues.
