I just bought a new iMac- 21 inch, 500gig, and 4 memory. I am still very new to macs. On my macbook pro on the dock is an application folder. The iMac does not have this on the dock. I have been using this folder to open programs. How do I get an app folder on the dock of the iMac. Also will I be able to share iPhoto over the network? It is on the iMac but did not come with the macbook Thanks.

You can just find the folder in Finder and then drag it to the right side of the dock. Then you can right-click and customize its appearance.

Thanks for the replies. I now have application folder on the dock. I was just surprised that the iMac did not have it by default. I am new to this. Please bear with the dumb questions.

I am too! I thought that was always part of the "out of the box" configuration.

It is rather easy to accidently remove it. Perhaps that happened without you noticing it. That would not be all that unusual.

Yes, you can share. Are you sure that iPhoto is not on your MacBook. It's been standard on Macs for years.

    Thanks again to all.
Dave, I have Ichat, Ical and Itunes. I thought it came with iPhoto also. When I set up the iMac, it said iPhoto came on all Macs, but not on my MacBook Pro. Can it be hiding somewhere I have not found?
