Hi, my name is Trevor and I'm new to mac

    All: Hi Trevor

I have a question to ask about the applications *insert proper mac word for folder here*. So I've noticed that all the applications are just a single file, which is awesome, I love that... But to remove a program do I just drag the icon to the trash and that's it? are there not registry keys or anything like that? Thanks!

    - Trevor

Not exactly, its actually a bundle of files. If you want to see whats inside, right click and select Show Contents.

In most cases...yes - its that simple. Some applications may also have uninstall applications or readmes that may inform you to go find other files and delete those too.

FYI trev, most mac applications are built as "packages" or pkg files, meaning all the files necessary for the app to install & function are included inside it, as a bundle, so to speak.

A few apps here & there have some (2 maybe 3) support or cache files that exist outside of the pkg, but not many. And YES, it is as simple as dragging them to the trash & emptying it to get rid of them :)

The proper mac word for folder is "folder". The Applications folder is a folder, and each app is a package (as explained above)

If you are deleting apps. I would recommend App Zapper.
