I was working on some essays and I was tempted to use this word "aprapoe" which I have heard used every so often. My question, however, is how to spell it properly. (Or for that matter, is it even an English word?) I believe the word is a synonym for "appropriate".

    Besides, assiduously really is a word . . .

So is "cromulent". Ever watch the Simpsons?

No? Well, how rather cromulent of you not to. ;)

Personally, I think it's kind of pusillanimous.

All of these neologisms embiggen even the most cromulent of kwyjibos to feel apropos in this thread.

From the title of this thread I thought it was going to be something about apes rewriting Poe - how these things let me down sometimes.

Since this is sorta turning into a words thread, how about your favorite obscure word? Mine used to be antidisestablishmentarianism, but of course that one gets overused. I always like getting people at Hangman by using "semihemidemisemiquaver" (seldom-used musical term for a 128th note :) )

Oh yeah, and triskaidekaphobia, fear of the number 13.

All these $20 words remind me of a funny scene from that Get Smart! movie that came out several years ago. Near the end, the villain is getting a little upset with Max's typically stupid remarks.

VILLAIN: Your bogus ingenuousness is beginning to strain my equanimity.

    MAX: How's that again?

    VILLAIN: You're pissing me off.

It would behoove you to abstain from logorrhea or you might be forced to partake of a selection of physagogues - causing you much compunction.

Especially since kwyjibos is not a word - just reference to a Simpsons episode :D
