Are the 120GB HDD's on the C2D MBP PMR?

I saw some rumblings here and there that Glossy MBP's 120gb hard drives were PMR but never heard a succinct answer to this.

    Is it?

I'm thinking about leaving the hard drive of my soon-to-be-purchased 2.16ghz C2D MBP as the 120gb and save the extra $80 for an external HDD.

The 120GB drives are Fujitsus, so no PMR.

    Would it make a difference?

They can make 120GB drives before PMR. If PMR matters to you, the 80 dollars upgrade to 160GB will well ensure you get one.

*Some* 120GB HDDs shipping are Hitachi, which are PMR.

While on topic I have a sata 80GB harddrive that I pulled from an older Mac Mini during an upgrade. Is it possible to use a sata drive in a firewire case?

My Core2 MacBook Pro has a Hitachi HTS541612J9SA00 inside it, which is apparently perpendicular.
