    I have been doing some searches and reading up on backup drives, and have a quick question.

    It seems that usb drives are not bootable, is that correct?
    Is there a firewire bus powered drive?
    Would it be bootable?

    Thanks

    using superduper, if it matters

    Why are you looking for a drive that is specifically not bootable? Any IDE/SATA drive won't boot if it doesn't have software on it - it can be used just for backups.

    Late nite dumb wording, sorry!

    I am looking for a bootable bus powered drive, if there is such a thing. Thanks for straightening me out.

    For what its worth...

    I have a bootable, bus-powered, 2.5" external firewire drive that I use for back-ups. I even drag it around with me so I can restore on the go. Its sort of like taking an umbrella with you everywhere you go. If you have it, it won't rain. If you don't have it... :eek:
