Recently i bought my girlfriend a Mac, eMac.

Well the thing just blew up and i found out she still has the box, but she discarted the white foam.

The machine is only 1 1/2 months old.

I need someone to sell me the white foam , or to loan it to me and i will send it back to you as soon as i come to the store with the eMac for it's warranty,

Thanks from the bottom of my heart if anyone can help me,

    Max

If your computer is still under applecare (which it should be as it's only 1.5 mo old) they should not need original packaging. I am not sure about shipping it in but if you take it into an applestore for service (or any otehr authorized apple service shop) they do not require original packaging. I took my new PB 17" into the local applestore a few weeks ago - no problems - in fact, not one customer I saw with broken macs had the original packaging. Hope this helps.

I agree with Adam, don't think that you will need the original packaging. You should contact a local retailer. They should take care of returning it to Apple if necessary. I would imagine they have shipping boxes.

I happen to be unusual in that I keep all my original boxes with packing.

I know when my TiBook got screen lines and I whinged to applecare they sent me a box. I put my laptop in the box and then the box came back with a laptop with a working screen.

Heck, if all else failed, you could just go to your local rent-a-truck moving specialist and get a whole bunch of packing peanuts. Same difference, more or less.
