Guys I unearthed an old Atari set yesterday, and have put it up for re-sale on my site http://atari.kelvintan.com/

Does anyone know what it is worth these days (or even worth anything?)

    Cheers.

I don't think it's worth anywhere near the $500 you're asking on your site. Part of the problem is that a lot of current consoles have Atari anthologies which contain a ton of the old games (there's one for the Xbox, for example), so people who wanna play those old games have the means to do so without actually hooking a 2600 up to their TV.

Check eBay (search on "atari 2600") to see what your console might go for.

Holy heck. I have a 2600 (two actually) with the paddles, joysticks, and tons of games, and I'd never think it would sell at anything over maybe $100.

I think you've been smoking the ganja if you think you're going to sell that thing for $500. Did you put that 2nd zero accidentally? Maybe you meant $50. Yeah, that's right.......it's probably just a typo, folks. Nothing to see here.
