Ok so I've concluded that ATT Wireless spoiled us and the merge with Cingular has ruined it.

For example... I have an old ATT GoPhone "plan"... I pay around $40 (with taxes) every 3 weeks or so, which when you figure it's 20 cents a minute, minus text messaging, that's about 100 minutes or so.

I also get free nighs and weekends.

I would like to upgrad my plan now that I'm 18 to a regular Cingular one, but I am reluctant to get out of my old ATT plan bc everything is so much more expensive.

Example: ATT used to have FREE incoming text messages... outgoign were 10 cents. Cingular charges $0.10 incoming and outgoing. This is huge for me as I am a big text message person. I clear my inbox of about 100 msgs every week. haha. I'm a loser.

Anyway... even with the $39.99 plan I don't even think you get free N and W... I just find it reduculous that with ATT things were so good and this merger really messed it up. I can't afford a huge plan and like I said, the text messaging really makes me mad.

Verizon WS is also increasing their incoming texts from 2 cents to 10 sometime in July. Crazy, huh!

    Any thoughts?

Then switch to a company that specializes in Pay as you go services... or just get a regular plan from Cingular...

Yeah, that's pretty strange. Especially that verizon is going from 2 cents up to 10! That's huge! I have no idea why there would ever need to be such a large jump in prices for text messaging... Have you called cingular yet to verify the nights and weekends thing? I always thought they had plans that geve free n&w...
