every time I upgrade the OS, software update's auto-checking feature gets turned on, though I have always had it turned off. is there some master setting that i need to change, or is it apple that is doing this?

I've noticed that since the last couple of releases too.

I think they're trying to keep things right by forcing us to look sooner.

i hate that though, that's why I disabled it. I don't want to be told when to download stuff, and I don't like the idea of the my comp connected to apple w/out me knowing it. besides, I don't upgrade till I've read at least a few reviews and reports and stuff for bugs....

on the subject of apple being obtrusive, did anybody have ichat, mail, and address book shoved into their dock without their wishing so when using the 10.2.3 combo updater? I did
