Re: .avi in iMovie?

Just a quick question....Do I have to buy Quicktime to convert an .avi movie so I can edit it in iMovie? Thanks.

You have to convert it to a "DV Stream" to work in iMovie.

Quicktime Pro should do it. If you don't have that there probably are other ways... but that's the easiest.

There may be free ways... I just don't know how offhand...

The key point is that iMovie takes 'DV Streams' as the video format... so however you can get it into that format... :)

Make sure you go to the Apple site for some TUTORIALS on how to use iMovie.

And don't forget to download the plug-in pack to get the extra transitions and stuff.

Have fun.
