meet her majesty, the F430 spider.

    at around $ 200.000 it's a steal

    some specs:

"The F430 is a technical masterpiece, particularly with its new six-speed F1 gearbox. It also comes with a electronic differential, which can be controlled internally by the driver through a knob on the steering wheel.

In accordance with the exterior, the interior has also undergone changes with a new steering wheel and centre consol being the most obvious. Compared to the 360 Modena, the F430's interior has much sportier overtones.*The steering wheel is more adjustable, while the speedometer background is available in yellow or red.* The centre console is also available in either aluminium or carbon finish.

With the European version of the car developing 490bhp, the 1,350 kg (dry weight) F430 has a power-to-weight ratio equal to that of the 360 Challenge Stradale.**

Performance is stunning, with the sprint from 0-96 km/h (0-60 mph) taking only 4 seconds.* 0-160 km/h (0-100 mph) takes 9.20 seconds, whilst 0-242 km/h (0-150 mph) takes 21.4 seconds. The car does the standing quarter mile in 12.8 seconds at 190 km/h (118 mph), whilst the top speed lies at 315 km/h (197 mph).*Optional CCM Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes help ensure that this power remains under control."

Oh that thing. I designed and built that little trinket in a weeked in my garage. Some company called Ferrari or something bought my prototype for 20 bucks. Eh. Whatever.

Ferrari are great, and they do look good, are VERY fast etc....but there's just something about them. People would look at you and think you're a self indulging little twat making up for something in a big, obvious way  No, I'll take an Aston Martin DB9 any day thank you. Course, if anyone wants to give me an F430 that's fine...I'll sell it and get the Aston :p

Whenever I see someone in a Ferrari, I always get the thought that they have just made their first million, and this is the car they bought with it.

If I ever had the money to waste on a supercar, Ferrari would be way down my list. I've always preferred Lamborghini over Ferrari, or like edesign said, buy a DB9 then you've got power, luxury and it's usable every day.

But when you drive an Aston, people get the impression you're too old and boring for a Ferrari, and that when it comes to 'excitement' you'll probably need to pop a blue pill! ;) heheh :p

Just to correct the performance data... (Car and Driver Magazine)

    0-60 = 3.5 sec
    0-100 = 7.9 sec
    Standing 1/4 = 11.7 sec @ 123 mph

In other words, it goes like an F40 ;)

Have to admit, I do rather like that Spyder version, looks quite dandy in that gunmetal grey :) still not a fan of the coupe version though.
