That's so nuts it doesn't even look real.

I'd like to see some non tethered videos. If he ever gets this thing up and going commerically, that will be amazingly impressive.

I definitely wouldn't want to meet that robot in a dark alley.

I agree that film of the robot stopping a car is amazing. It must be the gentle sort, since the car suffered no deamage.

Vehicle to autonomous biped robot conversion for the Mini Cooper r50.

I thought only the Japanese can build vehicle-to-robot conversions. :p

It that really real? Seems pretty unbelievable to me, plus the low quality videos make it seem like its just CGI. Consider me a skeptic.

There is no way it could be real guys. How come the news freaks out about iBow or whatever that sony dog is and never mentions this thing. And only one picture of the beast? The lighting is off too. And there car stopping thing is so crazy, the computing power for that and the programing would be amazing.

    Not Real. :(

Wow. You guys are GULLIBLE! (I expected more from you, Mr. Anderson!:D)

Its CG. Its pretty well done, but you can tell. (well done for a home-video type project) Especially the 2am light test.

    Ha ha.....pretty good though!

I don't know I saw this on another website and apparantly its running Linux software. I'm beginning to think its real?!! Honda has robots that can walk on their own programming, even helping a person left a heavy flat board off a table and traverse to another table to set it down softly; co-ordinating its movements simultaneously with a human. SOny has the QRIO out that can prevent its own damage in a fall, damn it can even dance better than some people I've seen (drunk or sober).....No lie!!! :D

If this is a hokes then it got me!

Awesome is right! But I'd still rather have an Aibo.

Cool-looking robot. I can't help wondering if they got their inspiration from these guys:

OK Guys, to those of you who are skeptical, prove me that it is CGI. All I've heard is mumbo jumbo but no facts proving that it is fake. I know I don't have proof that it is real either, but at least it's fun to believe...

that's so not real... the shadow direction on the car stopping test alone demonstrates that...

I did a quick look at one movie (the car stopping) and didn't spend much time analyzing it.

But I did just go back and look at the lighting test movie and there is definitely something messed up there. His shadow, as he walks to start the robot, tracks across the floor but doesn't show up as it cross the robot legs. That's fake to me.

One thing that did impress me was having the wheels on the shoulders rotating whenever it moved. That's key for keeping balance, since the wheel effectively acts as a very large gyroscope. The angular momentum in that alone would be impressive. Nicely done, that.

This hoax was fairly well done. A great concept but the CG lacks proper simulated lighting and physics. Most likely this is an attempt to generate interest in the Mini Cooper. If so, this is a fun advertisment. Too bad it probably is ineligible for a clio award.
