Cn someone explain what Back to my Mac does in the iCloud pane of System Preferences? There is very little information online about it that's clear.

    Thanks,

Basically it's a way to connect computers, both of which are using Lion/ML, and are logged in with the same ID. Various services are then shared between the computers, like screens or files. By using iCloud some of the hassle of working with dynamic IPs, etc is taken out of the process, and it's done securely.

Other products like ShareTool, LogMeIn, TeamViewer etc aim to do the same or similar things, and don't require iCloud.

great, thank you! So it doesn't have to be on the same network? How do you access it from another computer?
