Hi,

I was wondering wether it was possible to use a still image of a background, to remove it from footage that uses this background.

This would be similar to the backdrops in Leopard iChat.

Some filter that samples two layers, and removes pixels from one layer that have x% similarity to the one in the same place of the other layer.

You are describing what is called a Difference Key. I'm not sure if FCE has that ability. I know After Effects does.

Yep, difference matte is there, exactly what you'd expect.

I'm not really happy with the results, though, I think, I might look for some blue screen or something
