Backup to iPod

I have had a great idea and wanted to know if it is possible.

What I want is the following:
when I plug in my ipod, files on my local drive are copied to the ipod's disk as a backup. idealy this would be automatic, just like the itunes sync's with the ipod. also, files no longer on the hard drive should be deleted.

is this possible? if so, it would be great!

this is perfect, exactly what i need! now i don't need to remember to backup, it will happen at the same time as my music is synced!

i recommend this to anyone else without an external hard drive but with an ipod (and the space to backup onto it)
