I'm not sure what's causing it, but seemingly every few times I click a link with Safari (or do something in a browser window), a blank Quicktime player screen pops up and an alert message that says "The URL is not valid." I can't for the life of me figure out what is causing this program to open and tell me this (as I'm certainly not telling it to open nor clicking on any media that would cause it to open) and it is very annoying.

Any idea for a fix? Sorry I cannot give any more details but that is literally all that it is doing... opening up and making me close it to continue on with whatever I'm doing.

Can I uninstall and then reinstall Quicktime? Something? Anything?

    Help?

(This is not an April Fools joke, FWIW)

How often is it happening? Could you post a screenshot of the error and perhaps the link/site in the background? Have you repaired permissions and restarted recently?
