Anyone know where to get them?

I'm thinking of getting an old 466MHz Clamshell iBook, but I won't buy it unless I find some store selling new batteries.

Just checked and there are quite a few (11) on eBay. Just search for Clamshell iBook Battery.

Be carefull, even if the store claims that the battery is new, it's probably a few months-> year old.

I got a battery form my clamshell a few years back (think it was in early 2002), any way the battery was over a year old, and I returned it!
As you probably know, even with todays battery technology, batteries gets old and a unused 2 year old battery can be unusable.

The clamshell batteries is one of the most expensive batteries you can get..

You probably know that the clamshells only supports 800x600 resolution?
The sure looks great, but are a bit limited for todays use..

You can get the battery here:

Hey, thanks for the answers! :)
The prices on those two links differed a lot. Anyone who know if one is better than the other? How do I see how old the battery is?

    Yeah, I know about the 800 x 600. I believe I'll manage with it.

Are there parts in a Clamshell iBook that break easily? I'm asking since it is a couple of years old allready, and I don't want to buy it just to find out I need to change the logic board three months later... It's the 466 MHz model.

No the clamshell is a stury machine, never were much problems with them :)
The battery has a "produced date :" sticker on.. (atleast mine had..)

The only trouble I'm having with mine is that it only recharges when off or in sleep. I don't bother much about this machine nowadays (i have the crippled 300mhz without firewire or video-out..).

Get more ram in it, apple says it only holds up to max 320mb, but it can be expandable to 576 MB via one 512mb 1.25" 3.3V PC100 compliant SO-DIMM..
