Has anyone been able to test the battery life of mbp's using lion? Is it the same as leopard?

What MBPs specifically? There have been several in the last five years, with a variety of battery life.

    I have 2 identically configured 15" 2010 MBP's.

One is my work laptop, the other I use specifically for testing software.

    #1 runs 10.6.6
    #2 runs 10.7

Side by side testing reveals about 14 to 27% longer battery life with 10.6.6

My guess is there is still a fair bit of optimisation to come yet, so these results probably won't represent the full version

I agree. Of much greater concern is the dumbing down of OS X as they con the Apple Faithful that's it's an advancement to merge it with iOS. Unfortunately far too many have already bought into Apples myths.
